Jackie is a former soldier who served in the military with Dante and Johnny. He is a skilled medic and fought hard to become one. His nickname "Diamond" stems from his time as a professional boxer before joining the military.

Background

Jackie, like Dante, grew up in the city of Black Water. His father was a doctor in the slums of the city and his mother was a nurse. He grew up in a loving home and was always fascinated by the human body and how it worked. He was a bright student and excelled in school, but his family didn't have the money to send him to college.

Because of his athletic abilities Jackie was recruited by a local boxing gym and quickly rose through the ranks to become a professional boxer. He was known for his speed and agility in the ring and earned the nickname "Diamond" for his 'unbreakable jaw'. Jackie wanted to make a name for himself and provide for his family, and even though his father was proud of his son's accomplishments, he always worried about the dangers of the sport. Seeing the toll that boxing had on other fighters, Jackie decided to retire from the sport and pursue a career in medicine. He opted to join the military to get an education and serve his country.

Relationship to other characters

Jackie, Dante and Johnny all served in the military together and are close friends. Even though Theresa is the newest member of the team, the pair took an immediate liking to each other (even though they'll never admit it) constantly jabbing each other with dry humor.
